ترانه‌ی زیبای «Those Were The Days» (آن روزهای به یاد ماندنی) در اصل یک آهنگ فولکلور روسی‌ست به نام «Dorogoi dlinnoyu» که در سال ۱۹۱۷ به عنوان یک ترانه محبوب انقلابی بین مردم روسیه شهرت بسیاری  پیدا کرده بود.
در سال ۱۹۲۶ این ترانه را خواننده‌ی معروف آن زمان «تامارا سیریتیلا» با تغییر معنا اجرا کرد.
معنای اصل ترانه، شکایت از دستان ظالمی بود که جوانان وطن را به راه مرگ و جنگ می‌فرستاد، اما تامارا آن را با معنای «آن روزهای خوب» اجرا کرد و باعث محبوبیت بیشتر آن شد.
اجرای انگلیسی این آهنگ در سال ۱۹۶۸ با کمک و پیشنهاد پل مک‌کارتنی، توسط «Mary Hopkin» خوانند‌ه‌ی جوان اهل ولز انجام شد.
این آهنگ توسط خوانندگان زیادی به زبان‌های مختلف بازخوانی شده است که از آن میان می‌توان به اجرای دالیدا، Sandie Shaw، Dolly Parton، Dayna Kurtz، Leningrad Cowboys، Red Russian Army Choir ، Orietta Berti، Helmut Lotti، Nani Bregvadze و… اشاره نمود.
